AN ELDERLY man accidentally died after falling out of a bed at his care home.
In the early hours of June 29 John Shipton, 97, had an unwitnessed fall at the Penhurst Gardens Care Home, Chipping Norton, where he lived.
He was taken to A&E in an ambulance and was found to have a left fractured hip.

The next day he had an operation to fix it at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre but developed pneumonia after surgery.
Despite oxygen and antibiotics his condition got worse until he died on July 15 – 14-days later.
At Oxford Coroners’ Court on October 7, the assistant coroner Judith Leach, said his death had been an accident.
