A WOMAN who was walking along an alleyway was assaulted by an unknown person.

The incident happened between 6pm and 6.30pm on Thursday, October 22 when the victim, a woman in her fifties, was walking along Hobble Path which connects Southampton Street and Park Road.

She was grabbed by an unknown offender who attempted to pull the woman away from the path, but she ran away in the direction of Park Road.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

The offender was wearing a balaclava and black clothing and no further description is available.

Investigating officer PC Edward James, based at Didcot police station, said: “I understand that this will cause some concern and I would like to assure the local community that we are thoroughly investigating this incident.

“This was a frightening experience for the victim and I am appealing to anyone who has any information about the incident to come forward.
