AN INDIAN takeaway owner has received a special council award for his charitable work.
Didcot local legend, Hasnath Miah is the owner of Indian Dream restaurant.
From the start of the coronavirus pandemic he has been giving away free meals to NHS staff, police, and other key workers.
He also donated £500 to food banks in Didcot and Abingdon after the community reimbursed him for a phone that was stolen from the restaurant.

The nominations for the Didcot Town Council 2020 awards have been revealed. The categories include; John Eldridge Award for Voluntary Service, Unsung Hero, Service with a Smile, Lifetime Achievement and more.
However, because Mr Miah received so may nominations he will be getting a special award.
Didcot Town Council said: "We had so many nominations for Hasnath Miah at Indian Dream we have decided to award him a special Covid Hero Award. This is for the outstanding work he has done through lockdown. He totally deserves this award."
