A MAN has been electronically tagged after a host of crimes that included assaulting three police officers.

Martin Cox, of Couldrey Close, Abingdon, was made subject to a community order, to involve a three-month curfew with electronic monitoring that lasts until January 8.

It followed a host of offences, the first of which saw the 48-year-old convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in East St Helen Street, Abingdon, on July 14, 2019.

Cox admitted assaulting two police officers in the town on March 4 and racially aggravated abuse in Bury Street on the 27th of that month.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Didcot on May 1, one of which was racially aggravated.

The next day he caused criminal damage to a cell at Abingdon Police Station.

Cox admitted threatening or abusive words or behaviour on August 1, in Speedwell Street and Bonn Square in Oxford, and on August 6 on the X2 bus.

On the latter date he assaulted another police officer and causing criminal damage to a police car in Couldrey Close.

Cox was also banned from drinking alcohol in public or entering a public house in Oxfordshire for five years.

He was fined £300, must pay £750 of compensation, a £40 victim surcharge and court costs of £85.
