A MAN on trial for murder has told a jury that he didn’t do anything ‘criminally wrong’ on the night of the stabbing.

From the witness box at Oxford Crown Court today the second man on trial in relation to an alleged murder in Didcot gave his version of events.

Three men - Brookton Lagan, 19, of Robin Way, Didcot, Isaac Boyland, 20, of Marlborough Road, Oxford, and Taison Cyrille, 19, of Market End Way, Bicester, all deny murdering Darren 'Dizzy' MacCormick in Didcot in January.

They further deny wounding Matthew Ryman and Floyd Kennedy.

Boyland and Cyrille also deny conspiracy to supply Class A cocaine between January 1 and 10 this year, which Lagan has admitted.

Asked if he was 'responsible' for the stabbing of Mr MacCormick Cyrille told jurors: "No, I am not responsible for stabbing [him]."

He said he was not responsible for any of the violence that took place on the night of January 9 in Mendip Heights.

Asked if he went there 'in order to inflict violence on people or to have a fight' he said he did not.

He told jurors: "I didn't do anything criminally wrong that night."

Cyrille also denied having any contact with the deceased that night.

Explaining what happened with the two other alleged victims who were present he said: "Matthew Ryman attacked me on this night.

"He ran over to me with a golf club.

"Floyd Kennedy [came] over and rugby tackled me and we were fighting on the floor."

Earlier this week one of his co-accused - Brookton Lagan - pointed the finger at Cyrille, who he claimed had ‘never denied’ the stabbing that night.

From the witness box yesterday Cyrille was asked about allegedly helping Lagan to deal Class A drugs.

He said that Lagan's account was 'a lie' and he denied dealing those drugs, but went on to tell jurors he had been selling cannabis at the time.

The three men deny the charges and the trial continues.
