TWO more people have died in Oxfordshire after testing positive for coronavirus.

According to Public Health England, 11 people died within 28 days of a positive result on Saturday and two more people today.

Separate NHS data revealed that there had been no new deaths at hospitals in Oxfordshire which meant the victims of the virus died at home, a care home, or hospice.

In the daily update today, Public Health England also revealed that there had been 288 new Covid-19 cases in Oxfordshire in the 24 hours leading up to 9am this morning.

Here are the number of cases reported this weekend:

  • Oxford: Saturday – 120, Sunday - 96
  • South Oxfordshire: Saturday – 49, Sunday – 26
  • West Oxfordshire: Saturday – 46, Sunday – 34
  • Cherwell: Saturday – 112, Sunday – 80
  • Vale of White Horse: Saturday – 46, Sunday – 52
  • Oxfordshire: Saturday – 373, Sunday – 288
  • South East: Saturday – 6,289, Sunday – 6,133
  • England: Saturday – 37,759, Sunday – 35,263
  • UK: Saturday – 41,346, Sunday – 38,598

Across England, there are currently 3,789 patients with coronavirus on ventilation.

At Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the trust responsible for the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield and Horton hospitals) 47 patients were admitted to the hospital with coronavirus at the weekend, bringing the total number of people who have tested positive in hospital to 284.

Of those, 35 are on ventilation.

At Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust no patients were admitted to the community or mental health hospitals in the county with the virus.

The total number of positive patients stands at 51, of which none are on ventilation.
