Barclays will be closing its Didcot branch on Broadway next month.

On February 12, the Barclays branch will be closing its doors making branches in Abingdon and Wallingford the closest places for Barclays customers to bank.

The bank revealed the number of counter transactions had decreased in the previous 24 months, and additionally 88 per cent of the bank's branch customers also use other ways to do their banking such as online and by telephone.

Barclays have also chosen to close the Didcot branch because there has been a 10 per cent increase since 2015 in customers using other ways to do their banking.

In the past 12 months, 25 per cent of this branch's customers have been using nearby branches.

The bank identified that only 37 customers use the bank on Broadway exclusively for their banking.
