ANOTHER 16 Covid-19 deaths have been announced in Oxfordshire as the UK records its largest daily death toll ever for a second day in a row.
According to the Government's website, as of 4pm on Wednesday there were 403 new cases in Oxfordshire.
These were the numbers in 24 hours by local authority:
Oxford - 99
South Oxfordshire - 67
West Oxfordshire - 32
Vale of White Horse - 81
Cherwell - 124

Oxfordshire recorded the shocking number of 16 deaths, two of which were in Oxford, two in South Oxfordshire, two in West Oxfordshire, five in Vale of White Horse and five in Cherwell.
This takes the death toll in the county to 43 this week.
The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started:
Oxford - 7,546
Oxfordshire - 27,025
Public Health England confirmed that there have been 38,905 new cases and 1,820 deaths in the UK within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.
The previous biggest high came on Tuesday, when 1,610 people died in one day, which was also a record.
This brings the total number of people who have died from Covid-19 to 91,470.
The UK now has the highest death rate from the virus of any country in the world as it overtook the Czech Republic, which had held the top spot since January 11, according to data from University of Oxford.
A total of 4,609,740 people have now received the first dose of a jab.
