THAMES Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after six serious incidents across Oxfordshire this week.  

In appeals online, officers have urged anybody who saw something that could help in the investigations to get in touch.

  • Teenagers robbed at knifepoint 

Herald Series:

Two 18-year-olds were threatened by a man with a knife when they were walking along Broad Oak Park, adjactent to the Eastern Bypass Road in Wood Farm, between 6pm and 6.20pm last Saturday (Feburary 6). 

The man, who is described as tall, white, in his early 20s and slim, made a stabbing movement towards one of them before stealing this bag (pictured). 

They managed to push the suspect away and ran away uninjured.

  • Man attacked by dog 

A 24-year-old man had to go to hospital after being attacked by a dog in Banbury. 

At around 6.20pm on February 4, the man was walking from Easington Road onto St Georges Crescent when he was targeted by a man, in his late 20s, and his large white, shorthaired dog wearing a harness.

Police are now hunting for the dog owner, who is described as being 5ft 11ins tall with medium length brown hair with short stubble and at the time was wearing a black coat and grey jogging bottoms.

  • 'Violent' attack near train station

A man was left with a broken arm, cuts and bruising after a ‘particularly violent’ attack near the train station.

At around 9.15pm on February 7, a man in his 30s was assaulted in Main Road, Long Hanborough near the junction with Regent Drive.

He was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.

At the time a 22-year-old man from Witney and three other men aged 18, 25 and 26, all from Oxford, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm but they have now been bailed.

  • Woman sent 'distressing' cards in the post for over a year 

Herald Series:

A pensioner has been harassed for more than a year through a series of anonymous cards through her letterbox.

Now Thames Valley Police have shared images of the post which they think are being sent by the same person - judging by the same handwriting. 

Investigating officer, PC Ian Dring, based at Abingdon police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the hand writing in the cards pictured, so that we can identify who is responsible for this harassment."

  • Police hunt for man who was racist outside the Co-op

Herald Series:

A man argued with a cashier at the Co-op before racially targetting shoppers outside. 

At around 5.10pm on Tuesday, an argument broke out between a man and a shop assistant at the store on Littlemore Road. 

The man then followed another customer out of the shop and racially abused him. 

Police are now hunting for the man who is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall with curly hair. At the time he was wearing black jeans, a black parka jacket, trainers and a face mask.

  • 22-year-old man in hospital after VW Gold crashed into tree

Herald Series:

A 22-year-old man is in hospital with serious head injuries after crashing into a tree. 

At 10.10pm on Wednesday, his grey VW Golf crashed with a tree on the road between Rotherfield Greys and Shepherds Green (pictured), in Henley-on-Thames. No other vehicle is involved.
