THREE people have appeared in court for drink-driving at Christmas.

Two men were three times over the alcohol limit when police stopped them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

They appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on February 1 to be sentenced, here’s what happened:

  • Giles Carradine, 47, of Huntercombe End, Henley-on-Thames, admitted drink-driving on December 24 in Henley-on-Thames. He had 131mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. He was made subject to a community order and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85. He was disqualified from driving for 30 months.
  • Leigh Clarke, 29, of Moorland Road, Witney, admitted drink-driving on Downs Road, Witney, on December 25. He had 47mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. He was fined £200, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 36 months.
  • Paul Martin, 30, of Segsbury Road, Wantage, admitted drink-driving on Winchester Road, Wantage, of December 25. He had 107mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. He also had no insurance. He was fined £200, ordered to pay a victim fee of £34 and costs of £85. He was also banned from driving for 26 months.
