TWO dirt bike drivers have been slapped with a £200 fine after driving 15-miles in lockdown.

The 28-year-old men travelled from Reading to Blewbury, near Didcot, at the weekend to ride their dirt bikes in an empty field.

The government has urged anybody taking their daily exercise to 'stay local', meaning avoiding leaving your village, town or the part of a city where you live.

Writing on social media, police sergeant Maris from the South Oxon and Vale of White Horse team wrote: "Our aggrieved party also took the opportunity to educate them on the damage these bikes are doing to the gallops nearby and danger they pose to horses that train on them.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify if they are also suspects for the criminal damages..."
