SWIMMERS are set to make a splash in just days after Vale of White Horse District Council confirmed that one if its outdoor pools will finally be back in business.
Bookings for members for the Abbey Meadow Pool in Abingdon started just days ago ahead of the long-awaited reopening on Monday.
Many people in Abingdon spent most of the month of June campaigning to see the lido back to its former glory as the district council, which owns the facility, revealed that reopening posed a 'significant financial challenge' at the time.

Following the announcement of the reopening, councillor Emily Smith, leader of the district council, said: "We promised we would do everything we could to get the pool opened as soon as possible, as we know how popular it is with families, particularly over the summer.
"I am so pleased that we have been able to pull out all the stops to achieve this ahead of the schools breaking for the summer."
The Abbey Meadow Pool will be open Monday to Thursday, from 6.30am until 7.30pm, Friday from 6.30am until 3pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 8am until 4.00pm, subject to the weather forecast.
