70 new homes have been released as part of a a 555-home housing estate in Wallingford.

Berkeley St Edward is building a new housing estate on the outskirts of Wallingford which it is calling Highcroft.

The release of new homes follows a successful first phase at the 555-home neighbourhood, with 17 homes now completed with residents at Highcroft – located on the outskirts of the town. A further 14 houses have been sold and are awaiting completion ahead of residents moving in.

The latest phase of homes at Highcroft features a collection of four and five bedroom detached houses, as well as three bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses, with bungalows and two-bedroom houses to be released in the later stages.

The developer claims that each home is uniquely styled and designed to reflect traditional Oxfordshire architecture.

The latest phase of 70 new homes are located near to Highcroft’s allotments, trim trails and sports pitches. These facilities form part of St Edward’s biodiversity enhancements for Highcroft which has already included planting 1,000 new trees and creating habitats for local wildlife.

As part of the plans for Highcroft, St Edward is providing Oxfordshire County Council with land to build a primary school and is helping to set up a new bus service. However, only a small proportion of the housing development will be classed as affordable housing.
