VISITORS to an Oxfordshire stately home can now feast on authentic Italian pizza in a hilltop tipi.

Stonor Park, between Wallingford and Henley, has unveiled a new al fresco wood-fired pizza eatery at its new Tumblestone Hollow adventure playground.

The Rumble Hut serves pizzas, using local, fresh ingredients, cooked by Italian chef Salvatore within a genuine, wood-fired Gozney oven. The pizza menu, which includes Margherita, Pepperoni, Nduja and Napoli pizzas and several other options, is available from 11am-4pm Friday-Monday during term time, then every day in the school holidays.

The Rumble Hut will also be open on Fridays and Saturday nights from 7–9pm in the school holidays, where guests can enjoy a tasty dinner and a few drinks on a summer’s evening.

The hilltop tipi, which offers views of the parkland and valley can be accessed by visitors using it as a lunch spot or even hired for events after the playground closes.

In addition, Stonor Park has installed a new, traditional safari-shaped tent, which can be hired exclusively as part of Stonor Park’s new children’s birthday party options and includes access to Tumblestone Hollow, pizzas from The Rumble Hut, drinks and ice cream for a group of up to 25 children.

William and Lady Ailsa Stonor, whose family owns the house, said: “When we first sat down and began to plan Tumblestone Hollow, we knew we wanted it to be a complete experience for visitors and somewhere that they can spend a full day with their family or loved ones.

"Part of this vision is ensuring there’s plenty of delicious food to satisfy rumbling tummies."
