More than 100 golfers took part in a charity tournament to raise vital funds for Oxford’s NHS hospitals.

The golfing day was able to go ahead thanks to a £500 donation from homebuilder David Wilson Homes.

A team from the homebuilder’s sub-contractors Oxford Spires Scaffolding Limited also joined the golf day, which was held at Hadden Hill Golf Club in Didcot.

Team 'the shirts' were named as the winners of the golf day and approximately £8,000 was raised for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Paul Noble, captain at Hadden Hill Golf Club, said: “I would like to thank everyone that turned up to play and cannot thank all companies, friends and colleagues for their donations enough and the support that I had on the day. It was a fantastic day had by all.”

Campbell Gregg, managing director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We were thrilled to have the opportunity to support the golf day at Hadden Hill Golf Club and we were pleased our contribution helped everyone involved in their efforts to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“We’d like to congratulate everyone at the golf day on their admirable achievement to raise over £8,000 for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which will go towards supporting the excellent work being carried out in the local communities.”
