POLICE have released CCTV after an attempted robbery and incident of criminal damage.

Between 12.15am and 1am on Thursday, August 26, the victim – a 50-year-old man – was walking along Kennet Road, Abingdon when he was approached by three men asking him to empty his pockets.

The victim challenged the men, who then fled the scene.

Shortly before the incident, a Honda Jazz parked in Chilton Close had a brick thrown through its rear window.

Damage was also caused to the bodywork of the vehicle, and the incidents are believed to be linked.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Dollery, based at Abingdon police station, said: “I am releasing this CCTV image as the men pictured may have vital information in connection with this incident.

“We would ask the men, or anyone who recognises the men to please contact us.

“Anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police either online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43210382777.

“Alternatively, you can report 100 per cent anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
