POSITIVE cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have risen by 311 in the latest figures.

No deaths were recorded in the county, in the latest statistics, released by the Government.

The new cases were recorded as follows:

Oxford (92)

• Cherwell (69)

• South Oxfordshire (61)

Vale of White Horse (61)

• West Oxfordshire (28)

These latest figures mean there has now been a total of 61,249 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the county.

Across the UK, 36, 710 new people had a positive test result reported today.

Between September 17 and today, 231,241 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows an increase of 9.4 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

There were 182 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in the latest figures.

Between 17 September 2021 and 23 September 2021, there have been 998 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 3.5 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

The latest vaccination figures reveal that more than 48.6 million people have been given a first dose, while more than 44.6 million people have been given a second dose.
