A RE-USE competition has been launched for for children and adults in a bid to make Halloween more environmentally-friendly.
South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils have launched the competition and ten winners will receive books on zero waste recipes and ideas.
The council has told competition entrants that with the right imagination, toilet roll cardboard inner tubes can become flying bats, empty plastic milk containers become ghosts or monsters and pine cones can be transformed into scary spiders.

Councillor Sue Cooper said: “We know from our recycling figures that there are many people across our districts who take reducing general waste seriously. By sending in their reuse decorations they can inspire others to do the same and be in with a chance to win a great prize at the same time.”
Residents are invited to send in photos of their creations to waste.team@southandvale.gov.uk by November 5.
