A ROAD has been closed by police after a collision causing heavy traffic and bus diversions.
Hanney Road near Steventon in Abingdon has been closed by police since 4pm.
There is heavy traffic on Abingdon Road towards Steventon after a road traffic collision this afternoon.
Thames Travel bus service has tweeted that the road closure is causing delays to their service, and it is affecting the X36 service.
Due to a road closure on Hanney Road, our X36 service is currently unable to serve the following stops:

Steventon, Green (Westbound)
Steventon, Barnett Road
East Hanney, Whitfield Gardens
Grove (all stops)
Denchworth Road (all stops)
We will update when this road re-opens.
Thames Valley Police has warned drivers to avoid the area and tweeted:"Hanney Road closed between Steventon and Hanney due to an RTC. Please avoid the area and find an alternative route."
