A MAN has been charged after an elderly woman's purse was stolen. 

Kevin Nanton, 53, of Fettiplace Road, Oxford, was charged on Saturday with one count of theft.

The charge is in connection with an incident that happened on November 5, 10 days ago, when an 83-year-old woman had her purse and £130 stolen on Broadway, Didcot. 

Nanton is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates Court today (15/11).
