Residents and businesses in Abingdon are already gearing up and preparing for the Platinum Jubilee.

The Jubilee will celebrate the Queen's 70th Year Reign with a weeklong celebration of events from Monday May 10 to Sunday 5 June 2022.

It will take place in the Rye Farm Meadows in Abingdon.

The council plans to have events for all ages, including performances from local dance and drama groups, an evening of local bands, a comedy night and a funfair.

Abingdon Town Council is looking to hear from dance and drama groups, bands, comedians and food and drinks stalls and also any businesses to sponsor the event.

Across the country events to celebrate the Jubilee will be taking place in June with the Queens Birthday Parade taking place on Thursday June 2.
