Wallingford’s town centre is full of independent shops. This Sunday, December 5, shops and restaurants are open for a Christmas Shopping Day.

On the same day, stalls will be on the Market Place selling lots of Christmas goodies.

2. Ayres House studios

People will be able to find art, hand crafted items, homeware and decorations. All created by the studio and local artists and makers.

The Gallery is open for shopping from December 2 to December 14.

Currently the studio houses 16 artists and makers from various arts backgrounds along with 12 Associate (non resident) members.

3. Antique shops

Herald Series:

If you are looking for a unique and special gift, you can try one of the many antique shops in town.

On the high street you can find The Lamb Arcade, a fascinating historic building divided into over 40 shops, a very attractive spot for tourists and antiques enthusiast.

4. Grape Minds

Herald Series:

The only independent wine shop in Wallingford. They opened just a few months ago, and offer a wide selection of wines, beers, ciders and spirits.

This is the perfect one stop to stock on Christmas drinks.

5. Pubs and restaurants

The town has plenty of pubs and restaurants where visitors can rest after a busy Christmas shopping day.

Places like Five Little Pigs and Soph's Loafs opened this year, they are great for people who want to try something new in town.

For people visiting the town centre on a Sunday, The Old Post Office offers a great Sunday roast.
