An opportunity to share views on the future of Abingdon is set to be held in January.
Abingdon’s Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared and when it is finalised it will set out a vision for the town over the next ten to fifteen years.
Work on the Neighbourhood Plan started last year with groups of socially distanced people undertaking a detailed examination of their immediate neighbourhoods, looking at where they live through five lenses: Planning, Landscape, Architecture, Culture and Engineering.
Suggestions from residents have so far included, better cycle routes in and around the town centre, ‘lido-ising’ the open air swimming pool and repurposing the multi-story car park as travel becomes less private car focussed.
An outreach event has been planned by the neighbourhood plan steering group in the Roysse Room of the Guildhall from January 20 to 22.
