A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has won a competition to name a new housing development.
Schoolboy Harry Wigginton chose the name of the new Barratt and David Wilson Homes' development which is now being introduced as Abbey Fields, following a competition he entered at Long Furlong Primary School, where he was previously a Year 6 pupil.
The homebuilder enlisted the help of the local school children to name the development located on Dunmore Road.

Harry has been awarded a £30 book token as a thank you gift and he will now be able to see his winning name written on all of the development’s signs.
Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “When naming our new development in Abingdon, we turned to the pupils at Long Furlong Primary School for their inspiration.
“We’re now pleased to announce that we’ll be calling the development Abbey Fields, thanks to Harry’s wonderful suggestion."
