Two kebab vans in Oxfordshire could be crowned as the best in the country as they have been shortlisted for a national award.
Grove Kebab Van, in Grove, and Ahmed’s Bar B-Q, in Oxford are the county’s finalists for Best Kebab Van of the Year at the British Kebab Awards.
Today will be the last chance people in Oxfordshire will have to vote for their favourite establishment. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London tonight.
In 2019, Ahmed's Bar B-Q, run by 53-year-old Ahmed Semlali, from Witney, was the national winner for Best Kebab Van of the year.
Mr Semlali said: "It feels great to have the chance of being a winner again, we shall wait and see. I am looking forward to the final stage."
Grove Kebab Van Facebook page has 4.6 stars out of five for recommendations with some reviews calling it “the best kebab van in the Vale”.
With 4.9 stars out of five, Ahmed’s Bar B-Q is rated slightly higher than its contender, people have commented on its 'quality' food and friendly service.
