INCREASES to pay and display parking charges around the county, in addition to a job opportunity in South Oxfordshire are just some of the public notices issued by local councils in the last week.

Each week, local authorities in Oxfordshire issue the notices, which cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

Pembroke Square, Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence: Hooshang Kaveh trading as McCoys of 2 Colegrove Down, Oxford OX2 9HT is applying for a licence to use Pembroke Square, Oxford OX1 1DW as an operating centre for one goods vehicle.

Banbury Road, premises licence: An application has been made for a premises licence by Mogford Limited of 10a Woodstock Road, Oxford, for premises comprising the ground floor and terrace of 63 Banbury Road, Oxford, which immediately adjoins Gee’s Restaurant at 61a Banbury Road.

The applicant hopes to serve alcohol and hot food.

Variation of charges to pay and display on-street parking: Oxfordshire County Council is increasing charges at on-street parking places in central Oxford, Abingdon, Henley-on-Thames and Wallingford.

The revised charges are in line with the approved budgets set at Cabinet in January 2022 and will come into effect on 1 April 2022.

Independent persons required: South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are seeking to recruit Independent Persons to assist the Monitoring Officer with councillor standards work.

The councils are looking for people with an interest in maintaining high standards in public life and an interest in local governance.

The role of Independent Person involves assisting with complaints and may amount to a few hours a month. You would be working closely with the councils’ Monitoring Officer.

Someone cannot be appointed to this role if they are a councillor, co-opted councillor or officer or a parish councillor within the council areas or been so within the last five years.
