A LARGE tree inside a park in Abingdon was vandalised with green paint.
The fir tree, which is in the middle of the park off Park Road, had bright green graffiti over the base of the trunk and across some of the branches.
Christ’s Hospital of Abingdon, on St Helen’s Wharf, own the park and were informed of the graffiti and the hospital’s park keeper cleaned it away yesterday morning (5).
Thames Valley Police confirmed the vandalism had not been reported but reiterated that it would be the responsibility of the landowner to remove it.
A spokesman said: “Our stance on vandalism would be to encourage anyone who sees it to report it to us on 101 or our website.”
