A Subway branch that once scored the lowest possible food hygiene rating has managed to maintain its high four-star score after an inspection in March.
Subway at Unit A4, Fairacres, Marcham Road in Abingdon was given the four-out-of-five score after an assessment by Vale of White Horse District Council on March 2, according to the Food Standards Agency’s website.

The new score is a massive improvement from its score in January 2020 that saw the branch receive a zero rating. Inspectors said that the restaurant’s food hygiene and safety standards were generally low, however, now inspectors have given the branch a ‘good’ rating.
The four-star score means that of the Vale’s 166 restaurants and cafes with ratings, 115 have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
