A distraught owner has said her missing parakeet is her “world”.

Jamie Gilder’s yellow sided green-cheeked conure, Rocky, went missing from his home on Warner Crescent in Didcot yesterday at 5.30pm.

Ms Gilder, who has owned Rocky for seven years, told the Oxford Mail that the parakeet got spooked while she was feeding him.

He flew out of the door and away from the house.

She has not seen him since.

Ms Gilder said Rocky “is my world” and her “little baby”.

She is “very close to him” and added that he is always talking to her.

She said that last night she did not sleep at all because she was so worried about her beloved pet’s safety.

Rocky is a tame bird who has never left the house and so is not used to the outdoor environment.

Ms Gilder has shared information about Rocky on social media and contacted local vets.

She explained he will respond to his name and she just needs someone to catch him, so she can bring him home.

If you spot Rocky you can call Ms Gilder on 07904547687.
