A Stately home is encouraging people to dust off their armour for a bank holiday weekend of spectacular medieval jousting, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Stonor Park in Henley is hosting the annual event across the three-day bank holiday weekend from June 3 to 5 this year.

Herald Series:

The knights of Royal England, dressed in full armour and riding impressive Andalusian geldings will present jaw dropping displays of medieval jousting as they attempt to strike their opponent’s shield and knock them out of their saddle.

A full programme of events will include spectacular horseback stunts as well as foot combat with medieval weaponry, falconry displays, 15th century black powder weapon display, Agincourt history theatre, archery and a working medieval forge.
