An opticians stepped up to the challenge to complete one million steps in May, raising more than £400 for Oxfordshire Association for the Blind.

Staff from the Specsavers in Abbey Shopping Centre in Abingdon took on the step challenge and smashed their target of a collective one million steps by the end of the month raising £411.

Specsavers Abingdon store director, Andrew Threlfall said: “As passionate eye health champions we were keen to raise funds for Oxfordshire Association for the Blind.

“The challenge gave us all the extra incentive to walk, knowing that we were supporting people living with sight loss across the region with each step.”

Oxfordshire Association for the Blind supports people living with sight by offering knowledge, experience, and skill.
