HAVING narrowly beaten Glasgow Tigers, all eyes are now on Edinburgh Monarchs, for Oxford Cheetahs coach Peter Schroeck.

The Cheetahs left it late to claim victory over the Tigers – having not led throughout the meeting at Oxford Stadium until the end of the final race.

With everything still up for grabs, the Tigers led 43-41 but the Cheetahs won the meeting with a 5-1 led by stand-in skipper Troy Batchelor and Chris Harris, the guest for the injured Scott Nicholls.

Both Oxford and Edinburgh are fancied for a play-off place at the end of the Championship season, with where tonight’s points end up possibly proving crucial come the end of the campaign.

Ahead of the meeting at Armadale this evening, Schroeck said he is optimistic of claiming another win.

“Edinburgh’s going to be an important match, but I think it’s a track where we can shine,” he said.

“We’ve got some good riders who have got a lot of experience around there.

“They all know what’s at stake, so we’re going to push for all the points.”
