AN ONLINE fundraiser to support the son of a fatal stabbing victim has hit its initial target.
Police officers were called to a flat in Blue Mountains, Wallingford, at about 2am on August 30.
A woman, since identified as mum-of-one Katie Hurmuz-Irimia, née Chalk, suffered significant injuries and died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination found the provisional cause of the 40-year-old’s death to be stab wounds to the neck and chest.

To support Mrs Hurmuz-Irimia’s son Hayden, a JustGiving page has been created, and has already raised its £2,000 target.
Upon publication, the fundraiser – created by Mrs Hurmuz-Irimia’s uncle Colin Gilbey – has raised £2,070.
The JustGiving page reads: “On hearing the news of Katie’s tragic passing, I’m sure many people’s first thoughts have been with her loved ones, especially her beautiful boy Hayden.
“Katie’s love and admiration for Hayden was infectious and he adored her.
“My heart is breaking for them and I’m hoping by raising money for Hayden, even a small amount, it will help Katie’s family to support him through the unimaginable hurt they are feeling.
“Nothing can take away the pain Katie’s family are feeling.
“Katie was loved by so many, the love and beautiful words and messages received for Katie and the family mean so much.”
A family tribute released on Friday described Mrs Hurmuz-Irimia as a ‘caring person that looked out for other people’.
The tribute added: “We are missing you terribly, bye from all of us. Words will never describe how we feel, we have lost our star, shine high and bight, take care my angel, sleep tight.”
Anna McColl, a close friend of Mrs Hurmuz-Irimia, told the Oxford Mail last week: “Myself and many other people in Wallingford are very shocked to hear that this has happened to her as she is one of those people who is so nice and she wouldn’t do anything to anyone.
“I’ve known her for more than 10 years. She is very local to Wallingford and lots of people know her.
“It is just one of those things where she has always been so kind and considerate and she’ll talk to anyone.”

This morning, alleged murderer Mihai Hurmuz-Irimia, 28, appeared at Oxford Crown Court.
He is said by prosecutors to have fatally stabbed his wife at their Wallingford home.
Judge Ian Pringle QC remanded him into custody to return to the crown court on October 28 for a plea and trial preparation hearing, when he will be expected to either plead guilty or not guilty to the charge of murder.
