JOSH Ashby scored a stoppage time winner for Oxford City as they ended Havant & Waterlooville’s unbeaten start in Vanarama National League South.

Alfie Potter curled a shot against the crossbar, after a lay-off from Josh Parker, before Zac McEachran was denied when one-on-one with goalkeeper Ross Worner.

Canice Carroll then saw a shot come back off the outside of the post, as the woodwork continued to deny City.

However, Ashby ensured the travelling Hoops ended Havant’s 100 per cent home record in the league.

In the 91st minute, Reece Fleet picked out Ashby, who burst into the area and smashed the ball into the net.

The hosts felt they should’ve had a penalty when Tom Harrison tackled Jake McCarthy in added time.

Tommy Wright was then sent off after the final whistle for the hosts, after he exchanged words with the referee.

City’s win lifts them to 12th in National League South, three points outside the play-offs.

Banbury United slipped to fifth in National League North after a 2-1 defeat at Spennymoor Town.

Henry Landers gave the Puritans the lead after nine minutes, before Glen Taylor equalised with a free kick 10 minutes later.

The hosts went ahead through a penalty just after the hour mark, and held on for three points.
