An anonymous artist has brought cheer with a knitted ‘springtime’ post box topper.
A householder in Abingdon has snapped a photo of the crochet artwork and shared it to one of the town’s community Facebook groups.
Commenting on the knitwork, Sharon McNeill said: “Spring has sprung in so many delightful ways.

“That will bring a smile to so many faces. Thank you.
Another person commenting, Kim Mushett Mencer, said: “So very sweet and cheerful. Many thanks to the fibre artisan for making a Spring topper for the post box in Abingdon’s town centre.”
A third admirer, Julia Butler, said: “I love it. Whoever is doing these post box toppers, thank you.”
The knitted work includes a rabbit, a pot of flowers and easter eggs.
