A school in Abingdon which has partially closed due to RAAC has shared an update following a further investigation.

The results of a survey carried out at John Mason School in Wootton Road have shown that no RAAC has been found in any buildings, apart from the main block.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “Investigations are continuing for the main block, and we expect a final surveyor’s decision on this by the middle of this week.

“This does mean that we will need to continue restriction to the site for this week, and the main block remains closed, but we can accommodate a further year group on site, full-time each day, and headteacher Mr West will update the arrangement separately.

“We are sorry that we have no definite information yet, which does mean that we cannot provide clear timescales.

“At this stage, planning for this week on the same basis as last week makes sense, alongside the more detailed information.
