A number of food establishments across the county, including two village pubs, have received the highest possible score for food hygiene. 

The Chequers Inn on Main Street in the village of Charney Bassett has received a five-star rating following an inspection by the Food Standards Agency on September 15. 

Another pub which is toasting its success is the Prince of Wales Pub in Shrivenham in the Vale of White Horse district.

Meanwhile, the Dish Bar in Harwell has also received the maximum score on September 6, while St Hugh's School in Carswell Manor, near Faringdon, has also got top marks for its food hygiene in the latest ratings. 

But the Royal Spice takeaway at Coxwell Street in Faringdon received a two-star rating following an inspection on August 31.
