An Oxfordshire school is expected to reopen after it temporarily closed today due to a power cut.
Oxford Spires Academy, a secondary school in East Oxford, closed due to a power cut today, Wednesday, November 15.
The secondary school was listed on Oxfordshire County Council's emergency school closure's website.
The school is expected to reopen as usual tomorrow, Thursday, November 16.
The school posted the following messages about the closure on its Facebook page: "Thank you for your support today following the emergency closure of Oxford Spires Academy.
"I am pleased to confirm that the issues with the power outage in the local area has now been resolved and the school is back in full operating order.
"We look forward to seeing all of our students return to school tomorrow morning Thursday 16th November.
"Emergency School Closure. Following on from our communication yesterday regarding a power outage, due to circumstances beyond our control, the physical school site is closed today.
"Like our neighbours, we have no electricity therefore unable to safely have students on site. The electricity company have informed us that this could take up to 6 to 8 hours to rectify.
"Work will be set by teachers online and further communication will be sent shortly following this urgent announcement.
"We will keep parents informed by class charts and the school website throughout the day.
"We did not take this decision lightly and apologise for any inconvenience."
A second Oxfordshire school will be closed for a full day next week.
Longcot and Fernham Church of England Primary School in Faringdon will be closed on Wednesday, November 22.
