A festive Christmas card competition has taken place after a collaboration between a Wantage primary school and a national home construction company.

Wantage Primary Academy teamed up with Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties to deliver the competition.

It saw 23 budding artists deliver eye-catching designs that will be printed and shared amongst schools and local residents.

Three winners were chosen by the team at Downland at Kingsgrove development in Wantage.

Mya's design clinched first place, followed by Grace and Riyanshi in second and third place respectively.

Each of the top three received Amazon vouchers, Mya receiving £50 and Grace and Riyanshi £25 each.

In addition to honouring the talented participants, Taylor Wimpey contributed £150 to the primary school.

Rosamund Wells, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "We are thrilled to have taken part in this Christmas card competition with Wantage Primary Academy.

"It's heartening to witness the creativity and enthusiasm of the children and we are proud to contribute to the development of artistic skills within the community."

Principal Mrs Basilone from Wantage Primary Academy said: "It was great for Wantage Primary Academy to be part of the Taylor Wimpey competition and for our children to further develop their citizenship skills alongside their artistic ones.

"I am very proud of all those who entered."
