A primary school in East Challow has been kitted out with new tech after a donation of more than £12,000.

St Nicholas Primary School received £12,114, which funded 36 iPads and a new electronic signing in system.

The donation came from the Ray Collins Charitable Trust and the Ruby & Will George Trust.

Trustee Ray Collins from the Ray Collins Charitable Trust and Charlie Ellis from the Ruby & Will George Trust visited the school.

The iPads, monitored remotely to ensure strictly academic use, will aid students' studies, especially reading.

The funds also covered a security trolley for storing these devices.

The rest was invested in installing an electronic signing in system at the front desk.

Pupils Sophie, Ethan, Grace, and Oscar joined headteacher Michelle Rooke, Mr Collins, and Mr Ellis for a commemorative photo, describing the iPads as amazing.

The donation will help to improve learning at St Nicholas, a school with a high level of students requiring a range of support.

Mr Collins established his charity to make a difference to people's lives, both young and old.

He said: "A massive thank you to Charlie and all at the Ruby & Will George Trust for working with us once again and helping us carry on making a real difference in our community."
