Visitors to a railway centre were transported back in time with a re-enactment event at the weekend.

Didcot Railway Centre staged a 1940s nostalgia event on May 4, 5, and 6.

Participants recreated scenes of soldiers returning from Dunkirk and Home Guard operations.

There will be more more entertainment at the railway centre next weekend, May 11 and 12.

A visiting engine, No 752, built in 1881 for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway will be giving steam rides.

Meanwhile, engines 1340 and 4144 from the permanent collection at Didcot will also be giving rides.

Didcot Railway Centre holds a range of events throughout the year including Limited Run Days, Steam Days and Heritage Diesel Days, with events taking place throughout the rest of May.
