A school near Abingdon is celebrating the successes of its Year 6 pupils as they prepare to move on to secondary school.

The Manor Preparatory School is "delighted" to see its Year 6 pupils advancing to a number of different secondary schools.

The school is also celebrating a host of scholarships and awards to schools such as Abingdon School, Magdalen College School, Oxford High and Queen Anne’s.

It said it guides the families of Year 5 and 6 pupils to help them make the right choice of secondary school.

Headteacher Alastair Thomas said: "It is hugely important to us at The Manor that we ensure all of our children progress to a senior school which is right for them, as every child is different.

"We are so proud of our Year 6 children who have achieved a wonderful set of results and have such an exciting path ahead of them; we wish them every success."

The children are set to enjoy a five day residential trip, gala performances of their school play, Summer fete, Sports Day and their leaver's assembly and prize giving before they leave.

The school congratulated all of its Year 6 children on their successes.

It aims to "deliver a happy and memorable prep school experience" while also preparing children, "not just academically but also pastorally", for the future.
