A residential property in Oxfordshire has been shut down by police after officers were able to get a closure order from the court.

Thames Valley Police officers from the Faringdon neighbourhood team attended Magistrates' Court yesterday, Wednesday, October 21 and were granted a closure order for a property in the area.

A closure order is a legal restriction from anyone other than the homeowner and certain named individuals from entering an address.

It is often applied for by police or councils when a property has become linked to anti-social behaviour, nuisance or things like drug use.

A spokesperson for the force said activity around the Faringdon home had 'negative impacts' on the community.

They added: "We are committed to protecting residents and will not tolerate behaviour that causes distress to those living nearby.

"Anyone found breaching the Closure Order will be arrested and will be dealt with robustly."
