THE final touches are being put in place for an environmentally-friendly music festival in a tiny Oxfordshire village.

Wood Festival, which was created by the team behind Steventon rock festival Truck, will be held at Braziers Park, Ipsden, near Wallingford, from today until Sunday.

It is the second time the festival has taken place.

Organiser Robin Bennett said: “It’s shaping up really well.

“Everything is now finalised and we have planted a living roof on last year’s main stage, which is made of wood, to make it more weatherproof and look nicer.”

There will be music from indie band Brakes, Britpop act Dodgy and folk stars such as Karine Polwart.

The festival is powered by renewable energy, with solar panels, a generator powered by used chip fat and a stage run by bicycle power all in use.

New for this year will be an oak circle where talks about environmental issues will be held.
