THE campaign to save Wantage Community Hospital is holding a special meeting on Thursday this week with a view to expanding its operations.
The group will meet at The October Club behind Wantage Parish Church from 7.30pm.
Services at the hospital, which is owned by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, have been gradually withdrawn over recent years partly due to a legionella risk in the outdated plumbing system.
The 12 in-patient beds were closed in July 2016 and the physiotherapy service withdrawn last year, leaving just the maternity unit run by a different NHS body, Oxford University Hospitals Trust.
