Barrow MP Simon Fell is unfazed that the Furness area does not have its own mass vaccination centre.

A new centre opened in Lancaster Town Hall in an attempt to vaccinate more patients.

South Cumbria residents who live within a 45-minute distance of the town hall could be invited for a jab.

Although Barrow is excluded, Mr Fell does not believe it changes anything.

He said: “People will be invited to the national vaccination centres, but also their local one too (such as Ulverston and Barrow), and will keep being invited until they get their vaccine.

"People don't need to get in the car and drive 45 minutes to do this unless they really want to.

"With two local hubs, our area is already the 4th best performing in the country on vaccinations thanks to the work of local healthcare teams, so people really shouldn't think in any way that we're missing out.”
