Good Morning Britain viewers have praised actor Daniel Radcliffe after he refused to answer a question about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars last Sunday (Sunday, March 27).

Smith, who later won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the ceremony, walked up on stage and slapped comedian Rock after he had made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith's shaved head.

Pinkett-Smith suffers from alopecia, and Smith took offence to Rock comparing her to GI Jane.

Radcliffe, who was promoting his new film The Lost City on GMB, was asked by presenter Susanna Reid about his thoughts on the incident.

He admitted he was bored of hearing about the incident, as well as opinions on it, and declined to answer the question.

Many actors and people in the entertainment industry had offered their take on the incident, but some GMB viewers were happy he had left a much-discussed topic alone.

Another posted: "Well said Daniel Radcliffe; most people are bored hearing about the Oscars slap saga. Please turn the page @GMB. Focus on what's important."

One Twitter user was happy to let the incident rest, writing: "Glad Daniel Radcliffe didn't take the bait and comment on Will Smith [at the] Oscars. He is tired of everyone's hot take on this."
