As someone with a strong sweet tooth, it took very little persuading to get me to try a huge slice of cake, especially when it has gone viral on social media with plenty of people singing its praises.

While it’s the biggest and most expensive slice of cake I think I’ve seen, I have to say I think it might be worth it.

At £23 a slice, the Milkybertha cake from Get Baked seemed a little excessive, but I’m here to tell you what I really thought about the white chocolate goodness.

The cake has been shouted out across social media and on X, a post by @JoleneBullockx has been viewed by 3.1 million people so far.

Sharing a picture of the cake, she said: "The BEST £22 I have ever spent in my entire 30 years of being on this planet".

What does the Get Baked Milkybertha taste like?

On the Get Baked website, the Milkybertha is described as “twelve layers of brown butter vanilla cake, sandwiched with twelve layers of vanilla-infused white chocolate ganache.”

It definitely tasted chocolatey, and the sponge was moist when it arrived thanks to its quick and well-thought-out delivery and packaging, which costs an additional £5.99 (more on that later).

The cake is very sweet, and on my first taste, the slice was quite sickly, which surprised me, as very few sweet treats get to me like that.

However, I think having smaller portions helps make it much more enjoyable, and now I really appreciate the taste.

I’ve found adding some cream to it solves the sickly sweet taste for me, and I'm soon craving my next slice.

White chocolate is up there with one of my favourites, so I think it makes for a great dessert after dinner or a nice snack earlier in the day.

While I’m enjoying chipping away at the Milkybertha, with the help of keen family members, I don’t think the flavour is out of this world; however, I wouldn’t say no to ordering it again in the future, as it has definitely solved any sweet cravings I've had recently.

Is the Get Baked cake worth the money?

When buying a birthday cake earlier this year, I was shocked to see the price for celebration cakes in supermarkets had risen to about £16 for a pretty standard size, so this is how I convinced myself that the Milkybertha could be an ideal alternative for a small gathering.

That being said, I think that with this amount of cake (and calories, of which I can only imagine there are plenty), it won’t become a regular staple in my house if I want to continue fitting through my front door.

While the price seems to be one of the things people are unsure about (me too at first), I think it seems steeper than it is, purely because of the size of the slice and how many portions you can get out of it.

The cake has 12 layers, and per layer, I’ve been getting two slices out of it (you could potentially go even smaller if you wanted), so you could estimate a total of 24 portions.

That being said, the delivery charge of £5.99 is a pretty steep additional cost, but necessary if you want it to arrive fresh and in one piece.

Overall, I’m glad I tried it, and I think it’s a real treat to be enjoyed on a special occasion or just because – that's up to you to decide.

Get Baked also sells brownies, cookies, pies and more cakes.
