SIR,Will you please find room on the letters page to thank two very kind ladies who probably saved me from a stay at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, for Christmas.
I was emerging from the BP shop and garage in Wantage Road to find the heavens had opened to almost tropical rain.
Trying to hurry round to the side of the building, I missed my footing getting on to the pavement and started falling backwards.
These two angels saved me from crashing to the ground. One escorted me to the passenger side of my car.
Through the rain, I didn’t even see their faces so through your medium I would like to publicly thank their quick moves.
I hope I did not injure either of them, I’m no lightweight!
I hope they both had a happy Christmas.
Margaret Hicks (Mrs), Church Lane, Harwell
