Sir, You quoted me in the Herald two weeks ago as being ‘disappointed’ with the way SODC had handled the redevelopment of The Sprat. I should probably have used stronger language than that.
What is truly disappointing, however, is the lack of engagement by the other councillors elected to represent the area.
On the demolition of the only pub in Northbourne, the town council has ‘no strong views’. Also, despite being given a report by me earlier this year on a survey of 73 local residents on road safety in the area, they have ‘no strong views’. In fact, the only thing they did comment on in their response to the consultation was the need for a hedge between the site and its neighbour.
The area also has two district councillors and a county councillor who could have raised objections. As far as I can tell, they have ‘no known views’.
